Dear Sea Lovers,            

All those having interest in becoming a Dive Master, Dive Instructor and/or member of the water sports team onboard on one of our vessels, we have the following features to offer.

Star Clippers has three sailing vessels: the sister ships "Star Clipper" and "Star Flyer", and the largest real sailing ship in the world: the "Royal Clipper". At this moment the Star Flyer is sailing in the Aegean Sea and in the Adriatic Sea, the Star Clipper is sailing along the Cote d'Azur and Italian coast and the Royal Clipper is sailing in the south of Italy and in the Adriatic Sea.

For the winter season the Star Clipper and Royal Clipper will sail in the Caribbean and the Star Flyer will be in Thailand.

As a Dive Master or Dive Instructor you are part of the Sports Team, which normally consists of a Dive Instructor, a Dive Master and approximately 2-4 Sport Attendants. The Dive Instructor is normally the Head of Sports, he or she should be an out going person and able to take responsibility.  As a Dive Instructor you should be qualified as PADI Dive Instructor and for Dive Master you should be qualified as PADI Dive Master. In addition they should possess a license to drive 115 HP zodiacs, as well as all sports attendants. The sports team takes passengers out diving, snorkelling, Pico Laser sailing, zodiac tours, banana boat riding, water skiing, windsurfing, beach volley ball etc. and assisting the Cruise Director with the evening entertainment.

Your workday is 10-12 hours long, which is quite a heavy workload. But do not be discouraged: not everything is tough... to the contrary: You will work with crew members from all different parts of the world for who team work is priority number one. You meet interesting people and discover many different countries. Last but certainly not least: you are doing the things you like most: Diving and Water Sports, and in the mean time giving people a wonderful time.

The lengths of the contracts are variable from 6 up to 8 months.

Wages for Dive Instructors/Head of Sports are built up in the following way:

Next to a fixed amount per month you will get a 7.5% commission on all revenues generated by sport activities. As a general average estimation with no guarantee your total (fixed salary + commission) average salary per month will be around 1,400 USD

Wages for Dive Masters are built up in the following way:
Next to a fixed amount per month you will get a 4.5% commission on all revenues generated by sport activities. As a general average estimation with no guarantee your total (fixed salary + commission) average salary per month will be around 900 USD

Wages for Sport Attendant are built up following way :
Next to a fixed amount per month you will get a 1.5% commission on all revenues generated by sport activities. As a general average estimation with no guarantee your total (fixed salary + commission) average salary per month will be around 660 USD

The Crewmember is responsible for all travel expenses to join the vessel. Upon successful completion of the contract, STAR CLIPPERS will assume the cost of repatriation to a major International Airport of our choice, in your homeland.

1. All meals and lodging is free on board.
2. Meals for the Sports Team will normally be together with passengers.
3. Laundry will be free of charge for uniforms. For private laundry the use of the crew washing machine is available free of charge. You will be in close contact with our elite International guests. Apart from water sports you will drink, dine and dance with them and thus be able to expand your cultural horizon.
